About
Meggitt Service and Support portal provides access for airline and military aircraft engineers and technicians to obtain aircraft parts and technical support across the globe. Ensuring that the many thousands of aircraft, reliant on their parts, are on the ground for as little time as possible.
The Requirements
Meggitt required a complete restructuring and combining of a number of pre-exisitng websites, that spanned multiple continents. The primary objective was to create clear and distinct contact points for users to obtain support or technical details. Alongside this, the website was required to position Meggitt strongly, in a competitive market, as the leading, forward thinking supplier of aircraft parts and support.

The colours chosen reflect and compliment the global Meggitt brand. A strong contrast of vibrant colours against grey provided many opportunity to create defined areas of content. Because of it's strength, 'Meggitt red' was used as the primary function colour where an action or interaction was require by a user.

Highlights
Simplifying and coalescing what initially appeared to be a bundle of disjointed websites and information is always satisfying as a UX designer. Although the look and feel 'nod' towards the global Meggitt brand, being able to flex the limits of a brand’s guideline is something a designer should always pursue. The outcome of this stretching created a website that is more aesthetically pleasing, colourful and with greater usability than other current sites within the group.
